Daniela Corzo was inspired to start her project, TEXTITLAN, through her social service experience in Chiapas, community work, and her passion for textiles.

She noticed that there weren't many brands dedicated to highlighting the craft of Mayan hammock weaving - an essential and culturally significant craft.

Textitlan, partners with two female artisan collectives or Centros Comunitarios, located in two different villages of Campeche. The design and fabrication of the hammocks are based on the traditional Mayan hammock from that region.

"Working together with artisan communities has filled my heart with complete happiness. Working with women has been an unparalleled experience for which I am fully grateful. Our work together, I as the designer and they as artisans, who make each hammock with their magical hands, has been incredible."
