The Yaxchilan Pillow honors pre-hispanic ancestry while its black and white color palette gives it a modern flair. Handcrafted by the Tzotzil Maya community in Larrainzar, Chiapas, the pillow is woven using the backstrap loom technique passed down by pre-hispanic civilizations. The artisans are precise, work delicately, weaving thread after thread making each piece unique.
The Yaxchilan Pillow was created in collaboration with Kip Tik, a social enterprise that connects designers with artisans in Chiapas.
