Pedro Reyes: The Permanent Revolution

45.00

This book presents the staging of Mexican artist Pedro Reyes, who was commissioned by the Jumex Contemporary Art Foundation, in Mexico City. The project is part of the series Baby Marx, which explores the contradictions between socialism and capitalism, ideologies that still permeate today's culture.   For the staging, a script was developed that takes place in a contemporary context and approaches issues such as radical ideology, transparency and information control. They also created puppets of key figures, among them: Vladimir Lenin, Ernesto Che Guevara, Karl Marx, Adam Smith, Leon Trotsky, David Alfaro Siqueiros, Diego Rivera, Steve Jobs and Julian Assange.   This bilingual edition includes texts by Rubén Gallo, Claudio Lomnitz, Chus Martínez and the artist himself, who contextualize the project in history and contemporary art.
